Handling the emotional roller coaster of debt settlement
There are so many different things that will send us into a tail-spin these days, and owning money to anyone is one of the top stressors that we all are dealing with these days. The national and global economy is going downhill at a pace that is so fast that no one can keep up with home many hundreds and thousands of people are losing their jobs or getting laid off every day. This, the fact that so many people are losing their jobs, is part of what is causing people so much stress and is another reason that people are falling further and further into debt.
There is no end to the emotional roller coaster that people are going through due to the fact that they cannot pay their debts and need to seek help from outside sources/companies to help them get their debts under control and possibly completely paid off in a few months time. What really irks and bothers a lot of good hard-working people is when they cannot pay their bills on time and by themselves. This is often what starts the emotional roller coaster that accompanies being even one or two payments behind and not knowing what you are going to do about it does not help much either. The main thing that you need to remember is that you are not alone in this matter nor are you the first to have to deal with it either.
What is really important is how you handle the stress and what steps you are going to take and have taken to try to bring the situations under control and to a favorable conclusion. It is pretty well known that those creditors would rather get paid the money that they are owed in as timely a manner as possible so that they can keep their records straight. The emotional roller coaster that you will wind up dealing with if you decide that you are going to go the route of debt settlement (instead of debt consolidation and credit counseling or bankruptcy) is going to be a very wild ride of ups (when you send that next payment to the debt settlement company) and downs (this is from having creditors constantly calling you and demanding that you pay what you owe them).
The constant collections calls will not stop when you are working with a debt settlement company which will only stress you out even more than you already are stressed out. Something else that is bound to cause you even more stress is the fact that creditors have been known to actually raise the amount of debt that you have to repay when they know that you have a debt settlement company involved. You might also be surprised to know that you are not going to get any relief from the constant collection calls by telling the creditors that you are working with the debt settlement company and asking them (creditors) to call the debt settlement company instead of you. That does not work
